Summer Budget Travel Tips from Gadling

Support open source projects with (*gasp*!) money

I love open source dearly, but if a little bit 'o cash will help move a project along, then I'm all for layin' down some bills. With that noble goal in mind, check out Fundable, which allows people to set a monetary goal & then solicit donations from others. In other words, want a new feature added to some software? The developer says she can do it for $500, so someone sets up a Fundable page asking 5 people to each donate $100. If the $500 is raised, the developer gets the $$$ & the feature is added; otherwise, the money is refunded. It's already worked for one open source project, the FCKEditor. Will it work for others? I can think of several features I'd love added to my fave software. How about you?
