Wireless G card that works out of the box with Linux

Yes, there is such a beast. No, I not talking about ndiswrapper or anything else that uses Windows drivers. I mean that this G card works out of the box with Linux. What is this mythical creature? The Netgear WG511T Super G 108 Mbps Wireless PC Card, which is currently only $49.99 @ Amazon. It's a PCMCIA card that works perfectly with K/Ubuntu 5.10. I should know ... I'm using it right now. This is the one to get, guys ... although if someone knows of another G card that works out of the box, list it below!

1. The Hercules HWGPCMCIA-54 (wifi 802.11g pcmcia) also works great on linux with the rt2x00 driver http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/.

To find this card, i used openbsd manpages to be sure to buy a card which have free drivers!

2. Does this card work with the live cd out of the box as well?

3. Running out-of-the-box on a live cd would depend on when the live cd was made available.

I see no reason for it not to work on any live cd, considering it's a pcmcia card. Linksys wireless B pcmcia cards run out of the box on puppy too!

4. That's cool. I do know that my wife's Acer Travelmate (Centrino) with integrated 802.11b works with the Ubuntu live cd. She won't let me install Linux, but I can still use her laptop with Ubuntu!

5. I'm looking for a PCMCIA wireless NIC that works well with Ubuntu 5.10 and:

1. Supports 802.11g
2. Doesn't require ndiswrapper
2. Supports WPA or WPA/PSK security

Are you using WPA on your wireless setup?
